RECIPE - Homemade Chocolate Bars

I have to admit, I think I've received many party invitations simply because of these AMAZING homemade chocolate bars. This is a crowd favourite, and no one can believe that they're only 3 ingredients.

This is a quick, fast, and delicious solution to a chocolate bar craving, especially if you love chocolate, peanut butter, & nougat-style chocolate bars (like me :).

This recipe was adapted from a version by Lynsey Walker, R.H.N., who also played a huge role in the redesign of my website through her company, Pineapple Collective.

Homemade Chocolate Bars

Ingredients

  • Dates - for as many bars as you'd like to make

  • Nut butter - organic peanut butter is my favourite, but almond butter works well

  • Dark chocolate chips

Optional - mix combine your chosen nut butter with coconut oil, 2 parts nut butter to 1 part coconut oil

Directions

  1. Open each date, where the seed was fill with nut butter (or nut butter/coconut oil mix). Repeat for each date. Put onto a plate lined with parchment paper.

  2. Freeze for 10 - 15 minutes, or until hard.

  3. Melt dark chocolate chips on low heat and let cool slightly. Dip and coat each date with melted chocolate.

  4. Freeze for 10 - 15 minutes, or until the chocolate sets.

Thaw for 5 - 10 minutes before consuming. Stores well in the freezer for a quick afternoon treat!
